MCP — talk to ZeroChats from ChatGPT or Claude
What it is
Section titled “What it is”MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the way to connect your ZeroChats account to an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT so they can operate your business for you. Instead of opening the panel, you ask the assistant for what you want in natural language — “add a follow-up at 3 hours that mentions the offer”, “change the AI’s tone to be more casual”, “test what it would reply if a lead asks about price” — and it makes the change in your account.
The ZeroChats MCP server lives at a single public URL, the same for every user:
https://app.zerochats.com/api/mcp/mcpWhat binds the connection to your account is the OAuth login: the first time you add the connector, Claude or ChatGPT opens the ZeroChats login screen and, once you authorize, the assistant gets linked to your user. From then on, everything it does, it does with your identity.
What you can ask it
Section titled “What you can ask it”Once connected, the assistant can read and modify your ZeroChats business configuration. These are the capabilities available right now:
| Area | What the assistant can do |
|---|---|
| AI Agents | List your agents, view and edit their prompt, make small tweaks or full rewrites. |
| Business | View and edit the business description (the information the AI uses as context). |
| Follow-Ups | List, create, edit, and delete follow-ups, specifying when they trigger and with what message. |
| Sales links | List, add, edit, and delete links — the same ones the agent uses to send the lead in chat. |
| Content | List, add, edit, and delete pieces of content (PDFs, videos, links) the AI sends to leads. |
| Simulator | Test how your AI would reply to a message, or how it would draft a follow-up, without touching real conversations. |
| Account | Check the active user and the businesses you have in ZeroChats. |
Any change the assistant makes is saved as if you had made it from the panel — and applies instantly to the next conversations.
How to connect
Section titled “How to connect”Go to Business settings → Talk to ZeroChats from ChatGPT or Claude and click Connect. A dialog opens with the MCP server URL and two buttons, one for each assistant. When you click one, ZeroChats copies the URL to the clipboard and opens the right page — you just have to paste it and authorize access with your account.
- In the ZeroChats dialog, click Copy link and open Claude. The URL is copied and the Claude connectors page opens.
- In Claude, click Add custom connector.
- Paste the URL into the URL field and click Add.
- Claude redirects you to the ZeroChats login: sign in with your account and authorize access to the connector.
Done: in any Claude conversation you can ask it things like “list my follow-ups” or “update the prompt of my main AI”.
ChatGPT requires you to enable Developer Mode before you can add custom connectors.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors → Advanced and enable Developer Mode.
- Go back to ZeroChats and click Copy link and open ChatGPT in the dialog. The URL is copied and the connectors page opens.
- In ChatGPT, click Create application.
- Paste the URL into the MCP server URL field and finish setup.
- ChatGPT redirects you to the ZeroChats login: sign in with your account and authorize access to the connector.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Ask for concrete changes. The clearer the request (“create a follow-up at 6 h with this text: …”), the better the assistant executes it.
- Use the simulator before publishing. If you’re about to change the prompt or an important follow-up, ask the assistant to simulate the response first.
- Review the result. The assistant describes what it did; check in the panel that the change came out as expected, especially for prompt edits.
- One session, one business. If you have several businesses in ZeroChats, tell it explicitly which one you’re working on so it doesn’t touch another by mistake.
Current limitations
Section titled “Current limitations”- MCP does not send messages to leads or step into ongoing conversations: it only configures the business and runs simulations.
- It does not manage the integration with Instagram, WhatsApp, Calendly, GHL, or Booked: those connections are still made from the panel.
